Dressing Up Your Valentine's Day Lunch Date

Photography by Megan Gross | Hair by Yen Ryder

Try something new this Valentine’s Day by making a lunch date with your main squeeze at one of Central Florida’s local diners. Our favorite is Starlite Diner, with its retro Airstream exterior and a classic soda counter where you can enjoy a milkshake and fries. Really wow your date by dressing the part and taking your fashion inspiration from the 1950’s. Try a flowing pink polka dot top layered over a white camisole with soft pink accessories. Give your outfit a modern edge with a knee length black bandage skirt and some cute T-strap pumps.

There are some looks that are meant to stay in the past but this spring it is all about modernizing timeless fashions from some of our most glamorous eras. We took inspiration for this month’s look from the Anna Sui spring runway. Sui used strong red lips and rosy cheeks and eyes, recalling the delicate and feminine makeup of the 1950’s. Keep this timeless look fresh and modern by blending your blush upward toward your outer eye and laying down a layer of pearly white shadow on the inner corners of the eye to brighten up your face.
